F. William Summers Outstanding Graduate Student Award

The F. William Summers Outstanding Graduate Student Award is given by Florida State University’s College of Information (CI). This annual award is given to one outstanding, recent graduate of the CI’s master’s degree program who, among other things, has demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to the information professions, the College of Information, and community involvement. My work with the College of Information, my academic record, and my professional work at John Tyler earned me this award for 2008.

Internet Public Library

Florida State teams with Drexel University on the Internet Public Library. In addition to answering reference questions via the web, I rewrote the enitre subejct heading for Knitting, and added the subheadings Knitting Blogs, Patterns, Community Knitting and Knitting Instruction.

Distance Student Representative for the Florida State University College of Information Program Review Board.

Though I was a distance student, I stayed involved in the workings of the College of Information. During my year of service on the board, I attended the meetings through conference calls and Blackboard.
